Lady Ruth Bancroft, 109, who died in November 2017, is the owner of this spectacular fleshy garden. She spent 40 years building this oasis in the desert
Rose has been fond of flowers and grass since she was a child, but she became attached to the fleshy in the 1950s. At that time, she bought the first pot of meat in her life, and was infatuated with it ever since.
Initially, the meat was bought in greenhouses and toilets around the house. Later, the more meat you buy, the more you can't put it in your home. In 1971, her husband gave her three acres of land to grow more meat.
Looking at the open land, nearly 70 years old Ruth had the idea of building a desert fleshy garden. She wants to try to create a green miracle in this barren land.
From early morning to sunset, she spent nearly 10 hours a day in this yard, planning, designing, planting and watering, almost all of which she did alone.
But things didn't always go smoothly. The next year of construction, Ruth's garden encountered the greatest difficulty. The winter of that year was extremely cold. Some tender and fleshy plants in the garden were almost frozen to death.
But instead of giving up, she came back in the spring. In order to avoid being frozen to death again, she asked people to customize the anti freezing wooden box, and later built a special flower house.
Because she didn't know all the fleshy habits, she had to read many books before planting new varieties. After planting, she will take notes every day to record the growth of meaty people.
Ruth studied architecture in college. In the process of building a fleshy garden, her knowledge also played a significant role.
In order to break the flat landscape and make the garden more level, she added some ups and downs in the garden.
Planting succulent plants only makes the garden seem monotonous. She built a central pond in the garden.
I just didn't expect that this pond became the habitat of birds.
She also has her own ideas about the combination of multi meat planting. Some of the brightly colored and smaller fleshy plants are laid on both sides of the gravel path. The larger fleshy plants are scattered on the higher slopes.
Later, Ruth garden attracted the attention of relevant organizations in the United States, because of its desert garden idea has great significance for reference, in 1989, Ruth garden became the first private garden protected by garden organizations in the United States.
In 2011, it was appraised as "the most significant private garden on the west coast of the United States" by Pacific horticultural magazine.
Ruth herself did not expect that a small idea would have such a great social impact
In addition to tourists, it has become a holy land for marriage. More and more young couples choose to take wedding photos here. The meat garden is full of romance.
Mrs. Ruth gave the rest of her life to this fleshy garden. In the last few years of her life, she couldn't stay in the garden every day, but if she had the chance, she would transfer to the garden.
