I. Temperature
Generally speaking, the best growth temperature of orchids is between 20 and 35 degrees, and too high or too low temperature is harmful to the growth of plants.Orchids can grow rapidly when the temperature is above 20 degrees, and the metabolism of plants is the most vigorous between 28 and 32 degrees. Therefore, when maintaining orchids indoors, it is necessary to ensure that the growth temperature of orchids is between 20-35 degrees, and the temperature difference between day and night should be about 10 degrees.
The minimum temperature for maintaining orchids should not be lower than 5 degrees, otherwise it will cause frostbite or even death of the plants, and the maximum temperature should not be higher than 35 degrees, otherwise the growth of the plants will become slow. When the temperature is too high, it can be cooled by spraying water around the plant and increasing ventilation. When the temperature is too low, the plant needs to be maintained in a warm place indoors.
II. Humidity
Orchids grow well when the relative humidity of the air is 40-70%. In such a humidity environment, the plants are oily and shiny. Too dry or too wet will cause adverse reactions to the plants.Placing a hygrometer next to the orchid can intuitively monitor the humidity of its growing environment.
When the hygrometer often shows less than 40% every morning, you can inject clean water into the water tray of the flowerpot, and remove the clean water when the hygrometer shows 75%.In the afternoon, the hygrometer shows about 30%, so there is no need to deal with it, and it will rise again in the evening. When the humidity is too high, windows can be opened to increase ventilation, which can relatively reduce the humidity.
