A string of red likes sunshine. It needs to be preserved in a sunny place to help it grow and develop better. In summer, when the sun is strong, shade is needed to avoid withering of plants due to lack of water.
Plants need to grow in soft soil with rich organic matter and easy to drain.
At different growth stages, the temperature requirements of plants are different. The suitable temperature is 20-25 ℃, and it is difficult to germinate when the temperature is lower than 15 ℃. 7-13 ℃ is suitable for seedling stage in winter, and 13-18 ℃ is the best for growth stage from March to June. When the temperature is over 30 ℃, the growth of plants may be blocked, so it is necessary to cool down properly in summer. The plant is not cold resistant, and is vulnerable to freezing damage under 5 ℃ for a long time.
The plant is resistant to humidity and drought. Generally, it is watered once every two days to ensure the soil is wet. In summer, more water is needed, once in the morning and once in the evening to prevent the leaves from turning yellow or even falling off.
Lack of fertilizer will lead to dim color and short flowering period of flowers, so sufficient base fertilizer should be applied in the planted soil. In the peak growth period, the application of organic fertilizer once a half month can make the flowers bloom more and extend the flowering period.
