The sun is very bright in autumn. The cool weather is most suitable for growing Oxalis. For one thing, it blooms fast and explodes a lot, which can quickly decorate the balcony and windowsill. For another, it can breed small balls, which can reproduce as much as five times every year. It's very cost-effective to raise.
Look, you can harvest so many small balls in a small basin. They bloom no matter how big or small. You can harvest 5-10 times every year. It's not covered. It's more powerful than peanuts.
There are many kinds of Oxalis, all of which are small experts in fireworks. When it is placed on the narrowest windowsill, it can also form a colorful sea of flowers. In a crisp autumn weather, blue sky and white clouds with clusters of flowers can bring good mood every day.
So, if you want to plant it, how to plant the seed ball? It's very simple. When the temperature is below 30 ℃, the ball can be planted. When it's hot, it can be planted when it's cool. It can be placed in a dry and cool place at home, or it can be planted after the ball sprouts, which is more accurate.
Prepare basin and soil, generally 10-15cm wide basin, plant 3-4 balls, try to use a deeper basin, and make more balls. The soil can be peat soil, coconut bran soil or matched nutrient soil + perlite. The fluffy soil produces more balls.
When the basin and soil are ready, put the seed ball on the ground (the basin is 25-30cm wide, and 7 balls are put). It's OK to put the ball on the ground, and you don't need to put the ball into the soil. Note: the flowering order of early flowers and ob is different. If there are two kinds of flowers, they should be planted separately.
Then continue to cover the soil, cover it with a depth of 3cm, cover the seed ball completely, then pour water on it, and then pour the soil through. The bottom of the basin can flow out water.
After pouring, put it on the ventilated windowsill and balcony, wait for it to sprout, the early flower series will sprout in two or three days, OB may take 1-2 weeks. Before sprouting, water as little as possible. When the pot soil is dry, water it again. Otherwise, the sprout will grow too fast and too long, and it will not grow in vain.
When the leaves are out, the Oxalis can bloom normally as long as the light is bright. If it has to be put in the dark cabinet with backlight as shown in the figure below, it will grow into bean sprouts and grow again. Oxalis has strong vitality.
The Oxalis planted now will bloom soon. Ob series will bloom in November April, and the ones with heating at home will bloom earlier. There is no problem for indoor winter in the north, and planting in the South (south of Hunan) is OK.
After the Oxalis has bloomed, it is time to keep its leaves, sprinkle slow-release fertilizer on it, water and sun normally, wait for it to wither, and then it is time for dormancy and seed collection. The leaves are raised well, and the seed ball will grow big and many.
Generally, when the ball is in the hottest season, from June to August, pay attention to: when it starts to dry up, slowly reduce the watering until the watering stops, otherwise the ball will be covered with rotten water if there is more water. No matter the size of the seed ball, it can be replanted and flowered again, and it should be collected!
Take the seed ball off and leave it in a dry place for 1-3 days (don't expose it to the sun). Wrap it in newspaper or toilet paper and keep it in a dry place at home. Then plant it again in autumn or next spring.
Some flower friends want to be lazy. They think that after the Oxalis is dormant, it doesn't matter whether it's OK or need to receive the ball. It makes sense at first. But so many small balls are packed in one basin, which will affect the second germination and growth. Some of them will shrink.
