The first thing we should pay attention to is the soil. The soil is equivalent to our home environment. In order to grow well, the soil is the first thing. The basin soil is best made of sandy soil, which can be made up of rotten leaf soil, sandy soil and a small amount of fertilizer.
The leaves of Bayberry are fleshy and resistant to drought, so it is not suitable to water too much. Because the soil is sandy, with good water absorption, it can keep water for a long time, and can grow well without frequent watering. If too much water and too wet basin soil will cause rotten roots, endangering the survival of plants, usually water to keep basin soil dry.
When watering, the weather conditions shall be considered. In summer, the weather is hot and the water evaporates quickly, so more watering can be done properly. After watering, the plant shall be placed in the ventilated place as far as possible, or the excessive watering can be avoided to affect the plant growth.
As for fertilizer, it's better to use less than more. In summer and autumn, it's usually enough to apply diluted fertilizer once every 3-4 weeks. In winter and spring, try to reduce fertilizer application. Too much fertilization during the growth of Bayberry will cause the growth of its branches and leaves to be too vigorous, while the light growing leaves will not bloom, and the ornamental will be damaged. In particular, a small amount of fertilizer should be applied at the bud differentiation stage, so as to ensure that the leaves are numerous and the flowers are flourishing.
We all know that plants can grow luxuriantly only when they have enough light. It's no exception to bayberry. It's best to ensure that there is enough sunshine all the year round, especially during flowering. The potted plants that are kept indoors need to be moved to a sunny place frequently. The flowers and colors will be bright and the leaves will flourish when the sun is full. If it is put in dark environment for a long time, it will not only grow badly, but also affect flowering.
Everyone who raises flowers wants to bloom more. The flowers of the tiger bayberry are all on the top of the new branch. To make them bloom more, they need to be properly pruned. The season and technique of pruning should be paid attention to. The flowering season should not be cut, the main branch should not be too long, and the lateral branch should not be too short. Generally, the long and irregular branches will be cut short after the flowering period, so that the number and growth of flowers can be guaranteed at the next flowering time. Generally, the pruning will grow two new branches under the cutting mouth of the branches, and when the new branches grow to 5-6cm, they will bloom. In a few years, the whole plant will be full of bright red flowers.
It needs to change the basin in time when it grows for 1-2 years. Usually, it needs to change the basin every spring, i.e. from March to April. When changing the basin, it needs to keep part of the old soil at the root, replace it with new soil and replant it. Pay attention to cutting off the dead root, injured root and overlong main root, as well as the dense branches and leaves.
Because of its upright lianas, bayberry can easily fall down when it grows up. It can be supported by bamboo pieces and other things. Or it can be strung into various forms of landscapes, such as spherical or animal like, with bamboo pieces.
Because it likes warm environment, the temperature in winter should not be lower than 12 ℃, and it should be moved to the indoor shelter for maintenance as far as possible.
