Zijiao flower has no strict requirement on Soil and bears barren soil. But fertile and well drained sandy loam or loam is full of flowers.

For large-scale planting, attention should be paid to ventilation and proper shade. For small-scale planting or potting, support should be set up for ornamental varieties with many flowers and thin and weak stems to prevent flower branches from breaking.
