The suitable growth temperature of Cattelan is 20-30 ℃, which will be changed to 12-24 ℃ in March next year, 25-30 ℃ in daytime and 15-20 ℃ in midnight. In order not to let it enter the semi dormancy state, the temperature of the shed should be above 10 ℃ in winter. If the temperature is lower than 12 ℃, it should be moved into the room as early as possible. Over 35 ℃ in summer, it is necessary to create a fresh environment for it, so that it can maintain a vigorous growth and avoid stem and leaf rot.
Cattleyan is suitable for growing in a half shade environment. If the light is too strong, the pseudobulbous stem is easy to be burned and other diseases are induced. In other seasons except winter, 50-60% of the light shall be blocked. In winter, there is no need to block out the light. It can be placed in front of the window for a little sunshine.
Cattelan has high air humidity. In the growing season, the water should be sufficient, but it should not be watered too much, especially in winter, when the plant is in a semi dormant state, it is necessary to control the watering. Otherwise, it is easy to rot and die.
For cattleyan plants with vigorous growth, the plant materials need to be changed every 1-2 years, and it is better to change the plants in separate pots at the beginning of spring bud or after flower withering.
Cartland needs relatively little fertilizer, which needs to be fully decomposed. When the temperature is more than 32 ℃ or less than 15 ℃, fertilization should be stopped. During the flowering period and dormancy period, fertilization should also be stopped to avoid damaging the roots.
Don't change the direction of flowerpot at will. If you change its defense line constantly, the fleshy petiole will shrink due to the phototaxis. If the leaf is twisted and yellow, it will affect the flowering.
In the family raised cattleyan, the branch method is often used for reproduction. Generally, the plants with strong growth are divided once every three years or so. The method of dividing plants is basically the same as that of Chinese orchids. At least three pseudobulbs are needed for each new plant after branching, otherwise, it is impossible or rare to bloom within 2-3 years.
