Blight is a disease caused by fungi, which mainly damages the leaves of Gardenia jasminoides. At the onset of the disease, round spots with a diameter of 2-4cm will appear in the plant, the color of which is yellow brown, and many small black spots will appear on the edge of the leaves. Gardenia in humid environment will increase the incidence of the disease.
During maintenance, pay attention to ventilation and light transmission, water appropriately, reduce air humidity, and if conditions permit, put the plant outside for maintenance.
In the early stage of the disease, the diseased leaves should be removed in time to prevent infection. Separate the infected Gardenia from other plants to avoid poor infection.
It can be treated by spraying Bordeaux solution or diessen zinc solution once every 7-10 days for 3-4 times.
Gardenia yellow disease is a physiological disease, which damages the leaves of Gardenia. At the onset of the disease, the leaves gradually turned yellow, the plant growth slowed down, and gradually wilted.
It was found that the plant was yellowing, and 0.2-1% ferrous sulfate solution could be used to spray the leaves or irrigate the roots, and the concentration could be adjusted higher when the roots were irrigated. The spraying time shall be selected after the dew is dry in the morning, watering (spraying) and sun exposure. If the plants turn yellow seriously, they can be sprayed once a week, but the spraying concentration should be controlled to avoid burning roots. After a period of time, the leaves will gradually turn green and return to normal.
In order to avoid the plant yellowing, we can spray 4-5 ferrous sulfate solution during the growth period of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis from April to August every year.
Soot disease mainly occurs between the branches and leaves. When the disease occurs, there will be brown and white spots on the branches and leaves. The branches stop growing and the plants gradually wilt.
In case of disease, wipe the white bacteria on the branches and leaves with clear water in time. Or spray 1000-1200 times of Carbendazim and baumead sulfur mixture for comprehensive control.
The canker disease of Gardenia jasminoides mainly damages the main stem of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis. When the disease occurs, the main stem of Gardenia jasminoides Ellis appears hypertrophy and cracking under the main stem, and the main stem gradually shrinks and rots.
Cut off the withered branches when the flowers fall behind. And thinning branches to reduce nutrient consumption and promote the growth of trunk.
If the culm is found rotten, the rotten part shall be scraped off in time, and 5-10 degree stone sulfur mixture shall be applied for several times.
