Jialan requires rich humus, loose and fertile, good drainage, strong water conservation in sandy loam culture.
Jialan likes a warm and humid environment. During the growth period of Jialan, it is necessary to keep sufficient water and reduce watering when entering the winter dormancy period. Soil should not be too wet, easy to lead to rotten roots, if there is rotten roots, in dormancy will be dug up, stored in sand or sawdust.
Jialan's temperature
The most suitable temperature for growth is 22-24 ℃, but if the temperature is lower than 22 ℃, it will lead to poor flowering and no fruit. When the temperature is lower than 15 ℃, it will cause frost damage. When the temperature is higher than 32 ℃, the growth will stop. The indoor temperature in winter should be no less than 18 ℃.
Jialan likes weak light and can't be directly exposed in the sun any more. In the hot summer, it's necessary to shade and avoid exposure to the sun. In the indoor environment with better illumination, you can enjoy it for a long time.
In the process of Jialan breeding, some manure or cake fertilizer can be applied as the base fertilizer. The potted Jialan should use the rotten cake fertilizer mixed with calcium, magnesium and phosphorus fertilizer as the base fertilizer. The compound fertilizer of N, P and K should be applied once a month in the growing period. Nitrogen fertilizer should be used in spring and potassium fertilizer should be increased in summer. Promote the rhizome to be plump and bloom well.
Jialan is prone to leaf spot and bacterial wilt in high temperature and rainy season. It can be sprayed with zinc. In the rainy season, grass ash or garlic extract can be used for prevention and control, and methyl mop body fluid and chlorothalonil can be used once a week when there is no rain. When the nematode is heavy, it can be irrigated with trichlorfon solution.
