Purple Pearl needs sufficient sunshine, cool and dry environment, and it needs to be carefully protected in family maintenance!
Purple Pearl needs to keep the soil relatively moist during its growth. Generally, the soil is composed of coal cinder mixed with peat and a small amount of perlite, with a ratio of about 5:4:1. A layer of river sand is paved on the surface of the soil. Or mixed with sapropel, river sand, garden soil and slag in proportion of 3:3:1:1.
The most suitable temperature for the growth of warm Purple Pearl is 15-25 ℃ and no less than 5 ℃ in winter. Purple Pearl has the habit of normal growth in winter and dormancy in summer, so we should pay attention to ventilation, heat dissipation and moisture dissipation in summer, which can reduce the occurrence of diseases and pests.
Purple Pearl is located in a sunny environment, which will make the leaves grow too long and lose luster. Only when sufficient sunshine is given, it will have a short and strong plant type, compact arrangement of leaves and be exquisite and lovely. In winter, there is less sunshine, so Purple Pearl should be placed in the sunny part of the room for maintenance.
The growth period of Purple Pearl is from September to June of the next year.
During the growth period, the soil should be kept moist, watered thoroughly, and when the air is too dry, it can be watered around, but do not spray directly on the leaf surface, let alone cause water on the leaf surface, which is very perishable.
In summer, the number and quantity of watering should be reduced.
More nutrients are needed in the growing period, and fertilization is usually done every 20 days.
During summer dormancy period, the growth is slow or even does not grow, and the required nutrients are relatively reduced. Try to apply less or no fertilizer.
There are two ways of propagation of Purple Pearl, cuttage and ramet, which are commonly used in family planting. Cuttage is divided into leaves and cuttings. Here is a brief introduction to the commonly used leaf cutting methods!
Place the whole mature leaves on the wet sand, with the leaves facing up and the back facing down.
Place the flowerpot in a cool place, observe it, and grow leaves and new roots 10 days later, then proceed to the next step.
Bury the new roots in the soil, bask in the sun, water and fertilize them properly, and they will grow new plants soon.
