Pot quality requirements: can use muddy pot, plastic pot, porcelain pot, pottery pot cultivation.
Flowerpot size: Rubber fig can be planted in a basin with a diameter of 20-30cm.
Rubber figs like fertile and loose sandy soil. The culture soil can be mixed with 1 /3 of rotten leaf soil, garden soil and river sand, and a small amount of cake fertilizer can be used as base fertilizer. It is advisable to change the basin every other year in the young plant stage.
Rubber figs like to be wet, but they should not be waterlogged or resistant to drought. Keep basin soil moist in spring and autumn, and often sprinkle water around leaves to increase air humidity.
In summer, the water evaporates faster and the Rubber fig needs more water. It needs to be watered every day and the number of times of watering is increased. When the temperature is low in winter, it's better to water to keep a little wet. If the temperature is about 10 ℃, water more properly to avoid the basin soil being too dry and causing fallen leaves.
Rubber figs like fertilizer, but don't use nitrogen fertilizer. When there is too much nitrogen fertilizer, the stem nodes are too long, the leaf spacing is too large, and the plant shape and posture are not beautiful. Therefore, in the growing season of young plants, compound fertilizer is applied once every 20 days, and a small amount of potassium dihydrogen phosphate solution is added. In order to control the height of adult plant, the mixed fertilizer should be applied once every two months.
Rubber figs need enough light to grow, but they are also more shade resistant. Therefore, as long as the Rubber fig are placed in the south facing and sunny windows, pay attention to ventilation.
Rubber figs are not cold resistant. If the temperature is lower than 10 ℃, they should be moved to the room for maintenance to keep the basin soil moist. The family cultivation is usually moved to outdoor for maintenance from late April to early October, and the plants are properly shaded in hot summer.
The suitable temperature for the growth of Rubber fig is 25-30 ℃. If the temperature is lower than 3 ℃ in winter, the leaves will turn yellow and fall off. Therefore, it should be put indoors in the sunny place in winter and keep the room temperature above 10 ℃. When the temperature is over 35 ℃ in summer, the plant should be moved to a cool and ventilated place for maintenance, and water should be sprayed timely to cool down.
Rubber fig is a mulberry plant, the whole plant contains milk. Therefore, every time after pruning, it is necessary to immediately apply charcoal powder to prevent excessive juice from flowing out and causing water loss and death.
It is necessary to change the direction of the basin regularly in the seedling stage of Rubber fig, in order to prevent the plant from growing in one direction, resulting in small and upright plant shape and affecting the appearance.
