The sowing time of Cyclamen needs to be determined according to the market demand and the characteristics of the varieties. If the seeds are sown too early, they will not germinate normally due to the high temperature, and if the seeds are sown too late, they will grow slowly due to the low temperature, so they cannot bloom in the scheduled festivals.
Cyclamen is an amorphous seed. Good maturity, full grains and red brown color are the signs of good seeds. Black or light yellow color is over mature or poor mature seeds. Therefore, in large-scale production, in order to get consistent growth seedlings, the seeds should be classified according to size, and then be sown separately.
The sowing container adopts a sowing tray, and the proportion of peat, vermiculite and cow dung can be used as the sowing soil. Cover tightly with opaque black plastic film or kraft paper, and put it in the dark place for germination. The temperature during germination should be controlled at 18-22 ℃.
20-30 days after sowing, the seeds begin to be unearthed. At this time, the covered black plastic film or kraft paper should be removed, and the sowing tray should be placed under strong scattering light. When the sowing soil is dry, soak water from the bottom of the sowing plate, and do not use a watering pot to water from the top, so as to prevent the seedlings from rotting and dying. Spray liquid fertilizer every 5-7 days.
