Pour the seeds into a container filled with water, put them in 25 ℃ - 30 ℃ warm water for germination, change water every day, generally about 2 weeks can germinate. When the seedlings grow young roots, transfer them to a small basin for planting. After planting, put the small basin into the water tank, and the water depth is 1cm to submerge the young leaves. When the temperature rises to 17 ℃ in April, it can be moved to the open air for cultivation. With the growth of new leaves, the pots were changed for 2-3 times, and finally planted in a pot or basin with a diameter of no more than 35cm.
Potted plants can be planted from the end of March to the beginning of April in pots or VATS with an inner diameter of 40 cm and a depth of about 60 cm.
When planting, place 3-4cm of river mud at the bottom of the basin. The filling should not be too much. Generally, a water injection space of 20-25cm should be reserved at the upper part. Then, the cut rhizome top buds should be buried under the soil surface upward, and the covering soil should be slightly increased. The covering depth should be in line with the top buds and the soil surface, with 5-7 sections for each potting.
When just planted, the water should not be injected too deeply. 2-3cm is suitable to improve the water temperature. After that, place the basin in a well ventilated and sunny place for maintenance. Later, the water level gradually deepened with the growth of plants.
In summer, the depth of irrigation is about 25-35cm, which is often kept unchanged. After flowering, the remaining flowers and dead leaves shall be removed in time to prevent nutrient consumption and keep clean and beautiful. Add 2-3 times of fertilizer as appropriate during the growth period.
Before the cold dew Festival, pour out the water in the basin to prevent overwintering in a cold room at about 3 ℃, keep the basin soil moist and free from freezing. Before and after the spring equinox, combine the basin with soil change, and apply a proper amount of mature bean cake juice as the base fertilizer.
Water lily belongs to long sunshine plant, and the planting place should have sufficient light and good ventilation. The water level of water lily is different in different growth stages.
The initial water level is slightly below the basin edge, and gradually increases with the growth of leaves. At the early stage of the growth of the potted water lily, the base fertilizer should be sufficient, and no topdressing is needed.
The weeds, dead leaves and surface algae in the basin should be removed during the whole growing season. If there are too many algae, 0.3-0.5% solution can be sprayed once every half a month, and several times in succession can play a certain control role.
