The environmental requirements of cockscomb are not strict, but the cultivation effect is the best in the sand with good drainage. If the drainage is not good, cockscomb is prone to root rot.
The cockscomb flower should not be watered too much in the growing period, and should also be watered after flowering. When the weather is dry, the water should be watered properly, and the water should be drained timely in rainy days.
All the axillary buds should be removed from the seedling stage, and the thin compound liquid fertilizer should be applied every 10 days after the formation of the crow.
Cockscomb likes warm climate, like sunshine, avoid cold. If it grows in shade, its inflorescence is small and its ornamental value is low. The most suitable growth temperature is 18-28 ℃. When the temperature is low, the plant grows slowly and dies in winter.
Generally, the seeds of cockscomb grow black and mature before and after the White Dew. The flower moss can be cut off in time, and the seeds can be dried and threshed in the ventilated place. The flowers and seeds are managed separately and used as medicine respectively.
Generally, 300 Jin of seeds are produced per mu, and 1000 Jin of flowers are spent. When the flowers are exposed to the sun, they should go out early and come back late. Do not expose them at night, so as to avoid deterioration and reduce the efficacy. The seeds should be cleaned and stored in bags to prevent mildew and insects.
Although cockscomb has few requirements for growth environment, it is better to plant in sandy loam with high dry, sunny, fertile and well drained terrain for its more vigorous growth and flowering.

Although cockscomb likes air drying and avoid waterlogging, its branches are thick and leafy, and it consumes a lot of water during its growth period, so it must be fully irrigated in summer.
