A fleshy climbing shrub, about 3-15 meters long, with aerial roots and 3 horns or edges. Its color is dark green at the initial stage, and it will become light blue-green at the later stage. The edge of the old branch is usually swollen and light brown. Each of them has 1 - 3 hard thorns. The hard thorns are cone-shaped, gray brown to black.
Compared with the former, it is much smaller, about 7-8 meters high. It has a relatively large number of edges, 6-8 of which are dark green or gray green. There are 5 - 6 spines in the base.
