Difference between cinnabar root and dwarf tea

Leaves: the leaves of cinnabar root are oval to lanceolate in shape, with no hair on both sides; while the leaves of dwarf tea are oval or oval in shape, much smaller than the former, with no hair on the top and hair on the middle vein below. Flower: the peanut with cinnabar root is longer than the top of lateral special flower branch, while the flower of dwarf tea is axillary or terminal.

The leaves of cinnabar root are leathery or hard paper, elliptical to lanceolate in shape, about 7-15cm in length and 2-4cm in width, with undulate teeth on the edge, obvious glandular spots and glabrous on both sides.

Dwarf tea leaves are oval or oval in shape. Compared with the former, they are much smaller, about 3-7 cm long and 1.5-3 cm wide, with sharp serrations on the edge, no hair on the top and hair on the middle vein below.

The difference between flowers

The peanut of cinnabar root is longer than the top of the lateral special flower branch. The petals are white, few are slightly pink. When they are in full bloom, they roll back, and the shape is oval. The flowering period is from May to June.

The flowers of dwarf tea are axillary or terminal, and the petals are also white with reddish brown glands. The flowering period is from June to September.
