In the process of apricot cultivation, the occurrence of diseases and insect pests will affect the normal growth of the plant, resulting in the decline of fruit yield and quality. Let's take a look at the diseases and insect pests of apricot trees and the corresponding control methods.

Apricot disease and its control

Apricot brown rot

Apricot brown rot is mainly harmful to the fruit. It may be susceptible to the disease from the young fruit to the fruit maturity, but also to the flowers and leaves. At the beginning of the disease, round brown spots appeared on the surface of the fruit, and then rapidly expanded and became soft and rotten. In the later stage, the surface of the diseased spots appeared round like fluffy particles, the color of which was yellow brown, and the diseased fruits mostly fell off in the early stage. The specific control methods are as follows:

1. Trim reasonably and cut timely in summer to make the orchard ventilated and transparent.

2. In winter, clear and burn the diseased fruits and leaves to eliminate the source of disease.

3. Before sprouting, 1:1:100 Bordeaux can be sprayed. After falling, 80% mancozeb 800 times should be sprayed immediately. After that, 70% tolbutine 600-800 times or 75% chlorothalonil 500-600 times or 50% carbendazim 600 times should be sprayed every 10-14 days.

Apricot tumor disease.

The disease will damage the flowers, fruits, shoots and leaves of apricot trees. Usually, the disease occurs after falling flowers and when the new shoots grow to more than 15 cm. The specific symptoms are as follows: the damaged shoots are slowly elongated, dark red at first, then turn to yellow green, and there are small spots with yellowish brown and slight protuberance on them. The diseased shoots are easy to dry, and the fruits on them are mostly dried, shrunk and shed.

Prevention and control method: when the disease begins to appear on the new shoots or leaves, it should be cut off in time and burned intensively to eliminate the source of the disease. In this way, the disease can be controlled for 2-3 years.

Apricot bacterial perforation

The disease mainly damages leaves, but also fruits and shoots. The symptom of the injured leaves is that at the initial stage, they appear water stains, and then gradually expand to about 2mm in diameter, which is round or irregular. When the dead tissues start to dry up and fall off, they will form perforation. Specific prevention and control are as follows:

1. Apply more organic fertilizer and trim reasonably to make the orchard ventilated and transparent.

2. Combine with the winter cutting to cut off the diseased and dead branches on the trees.

3. Before germination, the whole tree needs to be sprayed with 3-5 Baume degrees of stone sulfur mixture and other chemicals, which is conducive to eliminate the source of overwintering disease; in the growth season, zinc sulfate lime solution, or 65% zineb 500 times, etc., should be sprayed once every 10 days or so.

Apricot

Pest control of apricot trees

Almond bee

The larva damages apricot fruit before ripening, causing early fall. The control methods are as follows:

1. Pick up and drop fruits in time and bury them deeply.

2. Spray 2500 times deltamethrin or pyrethroid when the larvae are laying eggs in May.

Apricot weevil

From April to June, adults eat buds and flower buds, lay eggs and damage fruits after falling. The control methods are as follows:

1. Artificial capture of adults in flowering period;

2. Pick up and drop fruits frequently and destroy them in time;

3. It can spray 200 times of 50% wettable DDT for prevention and control.
