Lilies like to grow in cool environment and like to dry. If the soil is too wet, the bulbs will rot to death. Lily to the soil requirement is not high, but with the soil layer thick, loose fertile sandy soil is suitable.
The reproduction of Lily can be divided into asexual propagation and sexual propagation. Asexual propagation includes scale propagation, seed ball propagation and bulbil propagation.
In autumn, select healthy scales and soak them in a specific solution for about 30 minutes, then dry them in the shade to make the base downward. Insert about 1 /3-2 /3 of the scales into the seedbed, and cover them with straw mat to protect the skin and moisture. About 20 days later, the lower part of the scale will form several small bulbs.
Collect the small bulbs of Lily healthy and disease-free plants, disinfect them, and then sow them. The distance between the plants is 25cm × 6cm.
When the buds mature in summer, they will be picked up, mixed with moist fine sand, and stored in a cool and ventilated environment. From September to October, they will be sown on the seedbed, with a row spacing of 12-15cm and a depth of 3-4cm, and then covered with a layer of fine soil and a layer of straw mat.
Harvest mature seeds in autumn and plant them in the seedbed. The next autumn will produce small bulbs.
That's how lilies reproduce! I believe that with patience and care, we can produce many beautiful lilies!
