Under normal circumstances, it can only bloom once a year. Influenced by many factors, it is possible from June to October every year. However, if the surrounding environment is suitable, especially if the temperature conditions can be achieved, then Epiphyllum may bloom four to five times a year, or even six times more.
Its flowering time is very short. We have all heard of a word called "flash in the pan", which means that its flowering period is very short. And it blooms in the evening, so it's easy to be missed and regrettable. However, when it blooms in different months, its specific flowering time and duration are also different. If it opens from June to August, its specific flowering time is about 9-10 p.m. and withers from 3-4 a.m. for about five or six hours. If it blooms from September to October, its specific flowering time may be at 8 p.m. and it will not wither until 4 or 5 a.m., lasting for 89 hours. So in the second period of flowering plants, people will enjoy flowers for a longer time.
This has a lot to do with temperature and moisture. During the day, the temperature is high, the evaporation is fast, and the water is insufficient, so it does not bloom. At night, the temperature is low, and the water is enough for it to open.
