Buddha lotus likes a sunny, cool and dry environment. Except in summer, it should be fully exposed to light in other seasons. If the light is insufficient, the plant type will be loose and not compact.
It is suitable to live in the soil with sufficient nutrients, good drainage and air permeability. The soil ratio is generally 2 parts of common saprophytic soil, 1 part of coarse sand and 1 part of vermiculite, which are mixed for use.
When watering, we should master the principle of "no drying, no watering, no watering", to avoid the rotten root caused by long-term water accumulation, but also not excessive drought, otherwise, the growth of Buddha seat lotus will slow down and the leaf color will be dim.
Apply fertilizer once every 20 days or so, using the thin liquid fertilizer or the compound fertilizer with low nitrogen and high phosphorus and potassium. Fertilization is generally carried out in the morning or evening when the weather is clear. In the evening or the next morning after fertilization, watering and thorough watering are required to dilute the residual fertilizer liquid in the soil.
In summer, when it's hot, put the lotus in the shade to avoid the sun. In other seasons, change the direction of the basin every three or four days, so that each side of the lotus can be exposed to sunlight. But if the Buddha seat lotus is in the half shade environment for a long time, the color of the leaf tip is easy to decline, which affects the viewing.
The suitable temperature for the growth of Budda lotus is 20-30 ℃, and the overwintering temperature is 15 ℃. It is necessary to pay attention to the change of temperature in the surrounding environment.
It is better to add plant ashes and bone meal as base fertilizer in the soil to keep the soil fertile. Pay attention not to splash the water on the leaves when applying fertilizer.
