About 2-3 years after cultivation, dahlia needs to be replaced with a new pot soil, otherwise the nutrients in the original pot soil will be consumed, so it is difficult to ensure the normal growth after that. The flowerpot and soil should be prepared before changing the flowerpot. The flowerpot should be mainly made of breathable materials. The loam should meet the needs of growth. The fertile humus soil can be used to mix the river sand.
The root system of dahlia is relatively developed. The root system will adhere to the surrounding of the flowerpot, which is not easy to take off. First of all, you should pat the surrounding of the flowerpot with force, so as to make the pot soil more loose, which is conducive to the separation of the flowerpot. Use a small shovel to turn around the flowerpot and lift the dahlia out of the flowerpot.
After taking it out, it is not allowed to plant immediately. First, trim the root, crush the attached large soil by hand, and shake off the attached soil on the root. Pay special attention to this process, do not damage the root, and then wash off the soil. In the long-term growth, the roots are relatively disordered. The old roots and rotten roots should be cut off, and the healthy roots should not be damaged. After pruning, sterilize with carbendazim, and take it out to dry about 10 minutes later.
Put fertilizer in the bottom of the flowerpot, then fill in the soil, plant dahlia in the middle, and compact the soil after the potting. After planting, it should be watered and placed in a cool and ventilated place.
