The leaves of tequila angustifolia are arranged in a rosette pattern. The leaves are fleshy and sword shaped. The color of the leaves is light green and sometimes variegated. The leaves are about 45 to 60 cm long and 6 to 7.5 cm wide. The edges of the leaves have small spiny serrations. The top of the leaves has a sharp and hard thorn, which is dark brown and about 1.2 to 1.5 cm long.
The flowers of tequila angustifolia are panicles, growing about 5 to 7 cm, with a few branches. Flowers grow about 5 cm, perianth tube is short, perianth has 6 lobes. The stamens are 6 in length, which are located at the throat of perianth tube, the filaments are linear, and the lateral ones are outside the perianth lobes.
Capsule nearly spherical, 3-lobed, capsule with stipe, and a short beak at the top.
