Camptotheca acuminata is a tall deciduous tree, which can grow up to more than 20 meters. Its bark is gray, mottled and split on the surface of the trunk, with shallow cracks. Its branches are relatively small, and its new branches are purple green, and its perennial branches are mostly brown.
The leaves of Camptotheca acuminata are alternate, paper-based, oval shaped, with a large area, up to 15-28cm. The upper part of the leaves is bright green, and the veins of the new leaves have short villi. The lower part of the leaves is light green, and the villi are more dense than the front. Petiole is longer, can reach 2 - 3cm.
The inflorescence of Camptotheca acuminata is nearly spherical, the upper half is female, the lower half is male, and the pedicel is about 5 cm long cylinder. The petals are light green, and the flowering period is from May to July.
