Leaf blade: oval or lanceolate, opposite, easily falling off or broken, entire leaf blade shrunk or curled. Stem: square columnar, surface gray green to tan. Petals: cyme, bracts are lanceolate, calyx is bell shaped, corolla is light red, light purple, blue purple to blue. Fruit: obovoid, brown with glandular dots.

I. blade

The leaves of litchi grass are oval or oval lanceolate, about 2-6cm long and 0.8-2.5cm wide, with blunt or sharp apex, round or wedge-shaped base, small round serrations on the edge of the leaves, golden yellow gland dots on the back and pubescence on the veins. Leaves opposite, easy to fall off or broken, most of the complete leaves shrunk or curled.

The stem of litchi grass is square and columnar, with a diameter of about 2-8 mm. Its surface color changes from gray green at the initial stage to brown brown and pubescent at the later stage.
