The leaves of naoque are basal and arranged in two rows, usually 5 to 6. The leaves are banded or linear tongue shaped, about 15 to 40 cm long and 2 to 3 cm wide. The apex of the leaves is blunt, and occasionally there are depressions or notches. The upper part of the leaf is dark green, the back is a little light color, and there are purple brown spots at the base. The base is narrow, stipitate and folded in half.
The scape of naoque flower is vertical, 25-30cm long, dark green in color, densely covered with purple pubescence, with 1 flower growing on the top, and the petals are narrow, long, round or nearly spoon shaped, about 5-6cm long and 1.5cm-2cm wide.
