There are 6-20 leaves of the taro, which are round and lanceolate, about 45cm long and 16cm wide. The top of the leaf is blunt, the base is gradually sharpened, the color of the leaf surface is dark green, and there are yellow green stripes in the middle. The back of the leaf is light gray green in the early stage and light purple red in the old stage, with no hair on both sides. Petiole ca. 45 cm.
The inflorescence of the taro is oval and its size is similar to that of the goose egg. It grows on the scape alone. The length of the scape is different. The bracts are wide oval and arranged in tile like arrangement. The smaller bracts are linear, and the sepals are oblong. The color of corolla is violet or white, the lobes are oblong lanceolate, and the stamens are oblong and oval after the outer ring degenerates. The color is light purple cocoon. The flowering period is from May to June.
