The water lily can be planted all the year round, but it has higher requirements for temperature. Before germination, the water temperature should be controlled at about 16 degrees. After germination, the growth should be controlled at 15 to 30 degrees. If the indoor temperature is low in winter, it will be sown in spring.
The seed shell of the water lily is hard. Before planting, you should try to open a small opening at the end of the round head. You can use pliers to break it carefully or grind it on the ground. Only the opening can let the water in.
Soak the broken seeds in warm water. The temperature of the water is about 30 ℃. Soak for about a week. Change the water 2 to 3 times a day. Generally, the seeds will germinate in five days. If the seeds haven't germinated in a week, just throw them away.
After germination, water culture should be carried out. The temperature should be controlled at about 25 ℃, and soaked in water for 5 to 7 days. During this period, there should be enough light, and the water depth should be about 10 cm, until roots and leaves grow.
After growing leaves and rooting, you can plant them in the basin soil. When planting, you can press all seeds into the mud. The leaves should stretch out on the water surface, and the water can't submerge the leaves.
