The seeds of cedars are very small and there are many empty seeds, so we need to select seeds before sowing to remove the empty seeds. The seeds of cedar can only be sown after being soaked and sprouted. To put the seeds in cold water for 96 hours, the soaking effect is the best. After the seeds are soaked, they should be disinfected. It is suggested that we use 0.1% potassium permanganate for disinfection. After 30 minutes of disinfection, wash the seeds with clear water and dry the seeds. Never sow wet seeds.
The sowing of cedar should be carried out before the spring equinox, and the sowing should be carried out as early as possible, preferably in rows, with the row spacing between 10-15 cm and the plant spacing between 4-5 cm. When sowing, the big head of the seed must be upward, and after sowing, the seeds should be covered with yellow clay or burnt marl. It's better to spread a thin layer of straw on the yellow clay or burnt marl, and then spray water. About 5 days later, the seeds will react. About half a month, the seeds will come out.
Cedar will be harmed by aphids in spring. It's very simple to prevent aphids. If you find any damaged seedlings, you should spray insecticides containing phosphorus in time.
