The flowering period of carnation is generally from April to September. The potted carnation lasts about two or three months from flowering to complete withering. Sufficient light should be ensured, but the carnation should not be exposed to the sun to avoid drying. The temperature during flowering should be controlled at about 20 degrees. The soil of the newspaper is wet, but do not accumulate water to avoid falling flowers.

1. Flowering

First of all, we should know its flowering period, so as to prepare for its flowering in time. The flowering period of carnations is generally from April to September. The potted carnations take about two or three months from flowering to complete withering. If the light conditions are too different, the flowering time will also change.

2. Maintenance method

(1) temperature: it likes enough sunshine and well ventilated growth conditions. The most suitable temperature for its growth is in the range of 14-21 ℃. If the room temperature is higher than 27 ℃ or lower than 14 ℃, it will lead to growth retardation.

(2) soil: the soil with good fertility and hydrophobicity is suitable. If it contains a lot of humus, it will promote its growth. You can mix 30% to 40% of the volume of coarse organic matter into the soil, or you can use peat to raise it, but you need to mix some perlite into it.

(3) fertilizer: generally, the soil used for planting it needs to be properly added with base fertilizer. If there is no base fertilizer, the amount of fertilizer should be properly increased at ordinary times. Most of the fertilizers used are phosphate and potash. The best way is to control the frequency of applying fertilizer once in a week to ten days. Pay attention not to sprinkle the fertilizer on the leaves when applying fertilizer. Just immerse the fertilizer in the soil at the root of the plant

(4) watering: you need to water the flowerpot every day. It is better to put a larger container under the flowerpot to hold the excess water after watering. When flowering, you can give it a little more water.

(5) thinning: there are too many flowers and branches, the stem is in the state of high humidity and no sunshine for a long time, so the plant is very easy to get sick. Therefore, it is necessary to comb the flowers and branches properly, and remove the yellow leaves and weak branches to avoid the plant from getting sick.
