It is very sensitive to the light. It must not be exposed to the sun. It must have moderate light. Too much light makes its color dark and brown. But also can not be too little light, too little light will cause its growth to become slow, the leaves will not be so full, and also difficult to restore the original plump appearance. So we should put it in the place where the light is bright but not direct.
They like warmth, but they are afraid of high temperature. 18 to 22 degrees is the most suitable temperature for their growth. Therefore, due to the high temperature in summer, it will enter into a dormant state. At this time, we should strengthen the ventilation of the jade dew and move it to a cool place. The temperature in winter should not be lower than 12 ℃, so we should put it in a warm room. If the plant grows in the environment of less than five degrees for a long time, it will freeze to death, but it is difficult to return to its original plump appearance.
There is not too much trouble about watering, and its own water requirements are not much. Spraying with spray often improves the moisture content of the surrounding air. Proper watering can make the jade dew fuller and more transparent. Keep the basin soil moist and don't water it too much, which will lead to root rot.
Change the basin every one to two years.
The basin soil should choose the sandy soil which is loose, fertile, drainage and air permeability. Generally, it is planted with the soil mixed with saprophytic soil, garden soil and coarse sand or vermiculite. The proportion of these three kinds of soil is one to one to three. If you add a small amount of calcareous material, such as bone meal, it will grow more vigorously.
Apply thin liquid fertilizer or compound fertilizer which is mature every other month. When applying fertilizer, be careful not to sprinkle the fertilizer on the leaves, otherwise the fertilizer reduced to the leaves will form spots and affect their appearance. Because summer will go into dormancy period, so this is the time to stop fertilization, until the temperature drops to cool, then return to normal fertilization. It is very suitable for fertilizing in the morning or evening on a sunny day.
