Evergreen likes astigmatism and is afraid of direct sunlight in summer. When cultivating Rohdea japonica outdoors, we should do a good job in shading. The light should not be too strong, or it will be easily burned.
Potted Rohdea japonica can be cultivated with general garden soil, but it is better to use slightly acid sandy loam with loose and good water permeability. The saprophytic soil and sandy loam can be mixed as the cultivated soil, and a small amount of diluted ferrous sulfate can be used to acidify the soil.
Evergreen like warm and humid climate, is not cold resistant plants. In winter, it is necessary to move into the room for maintenance. The temperature of 6 ℃ - 18 ℃ is the best, not lower than 6 ℃ (not less than 10 ℃ for a few varieties). When the temperature drops below 10 ℃, necessary heat preservation measures shall be taken, otherwise, it is easy to cause leaf falling and stem top festering.
Evergreen is a root plant of meat. It is easy to be waterlogged when standing water, and it is easy to cause rotten roots when watering. The basin soil should be kept moist in summer. Spring and autumn are the peak seasons for the growth of Rohdea japonica. The watering should be sufficient, but the water in the basin should not be allowed to accumulate.
Evergreen has strong fertility tolerance, so it is necessary to apply thin fertilizer frequently. During the growth period, liquid fertilizer should be applied every 20 days or so. In summer, liquid fertilizer can be applied once in about 10 days. Stop fertilizing in winter.
