Cockscomb likes sunshine. It needs to keep enough light during its growth. It can be kept in the outdoor light. When the light is insufficient, it needs to be supplemented manually.
It is resistant to barren and has strong adaptability to the environment, so the requirements for soil are not very strict. Ordinary soil can be planted, but it is best to plant with sandy soil with good drainage.
It is native to Africa and likes warm climate. The suitable temperature for germination and growth is 20-30 ℃ and 10-30 ℃ respectively. High temperature resistance, good growth in high temperature and dry environment. But not cold resistant, too low temperature will affect growth.
It is more drought-resistant. When it is first planted, it only needs to be watered to keep the soil moist. Then water it properly to promote its growth. When watering, be careful not to make the leaves stained with sludge. Water at least once a day to facilitate the blooming of flowers and the maturity of seeds.
There is no need to apply too much fertilizer for plant maintenance. After flower bud formation, apply fertilizer once every 10 days. It is best to use thin compound liquid fertilizer.
