Calla like to grow in warm and humid areas. It is afraid of drying, and low temperature will affect flowering. Therefore, it is better to breed in many areas in the south of China. In the north of China, the air humidity should be increased and the heat preservation should be carried out in winter. In addition, smoke pollution will seriously affect its growth, so the industrial zone is not suitable for breeding.
1. Soil: Calla is suitable to grow in the fertile acid soil. It can be mixed with Tangni and saprophytic soil in a ratio of about 2:1. Adding a little superphosphate to the pot soil as the base fertilizer can also provide nutrients for its growth.
2. Light: sufficient light is indispensable for the growth of Calla. It can not only make the plant strong, but also help to bloom. If the light is not enough, the plants will be thin and weak, and the flowering period will be delayed.
3. Watering: Calla prefers humid environment. Especially in the growing period, water more and keep the basin soil moist. Besides, spray water on its leaves to improve the air humidity around it.
4. Fertilization: the horseshoe lotus should be fully fertilized before flowering. Fertilizer should be applied every two weeks. Liquid fertilizer and chemical fertilizer should be used in turn, which is more conducive to absorption. After the emergence of flower bud, the amount of fertilizer can be increased properly, which is helpful to delay the flowering period.
