Longevity flower has a feature that the older the branches are, the smaller the flowers are, and the less bright the color is. Therefore, before flower bud differentiation, the branches should be properly pruned and more branches should be distributed.
Pruning time: after dormancy to before mid autumn Festival
Pruning techniques
Now it is mainly for topping. Each branch leaves 2-3 pairs of leaves (i.e. 4-6 leaves), so that one branch can grow 4 branches.
After topping, it is necessary to start top dressing. At the beginning, it is the growth period, mainly with long leaves, so first use huaduoduo No.1 compound fertilizer, balance nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, once every 10 days.
When the leaves grow up and plant shape comes out, start to apply phosphorus and potassium fertilizer, mainly potassium dihydrogen phosphate or huaduo No. 2, dilute with water, and then irrigate once every 10 days, and soon the buds will be pregnant.
After the flower bud appears color, stop fertilization, control water properly, bask in the sun more and ventilate more. It blooms as early as November, and can bloom before and after the Spring Festival.
If you don't have a bud for a long time, it may be a problem of light. The long-lived flower is a plant with short sunshine. Eight hours of sunshine a day is enough to affect the pregnancy bud.
Cover the bag at 5:00 p.m. for shading, take it away at 8:00 and 9:00 a.m., and bask in the sun for the rest of the time. Spray potassium dihydrogen phosphate every other time, and flower buds will appear after 40 consecutive days.
The pruned branches of Florist Kalanchoe can be used for cutting. For cutting, here are some suggestions for you:
1. Cutting time: from late August to early September, it is the best, the weather is cool and rooting is good;
2. Cutting branches: it is necessary to use the top bud, which has a strong ability of differentiation and does not take root with the old pile for three months;
1. Keep at least 2 pairs of leaves on the branch, the leaves are too few and easy to shrink, and they will be dried before rooting.
After selecting the branches and putting them in a cool and ventilated place for a day or two, the survival rate will be high after the wound is healed.
2. Clean river sand, peat soil + perlite, vermiculite, etc. can be used for the soil. After being wet, it can be dried to half dry and half tidal state, and then the branches can be inserted into 2cm deep.
3. After planting, do not water immediately. Put it in the backlight, open more windows for ventilation, wait until the soil is completely dry, then water it, and it will take root in about 2 weeks.
4. The cuttage can be transplanted in about a month. The soil is mixed with peat soil, perlite and river sand, and the tide soil is used for basin.
After a week, slowly increase the light, water or dry thoroughly, and ventilate as much as possible.
5. When the seedlings grow to 5cm high, they can top the leaves from the 4th to 5th, limit their height and promote the growth of lateral branches.
6. After more than one month, the young seedlings will grow flower buds. At this time, the seedlings are still very weak. Don't let them bloom. Remove the flower buds and apply compound fertilizer regularly.
7. For winter maintenance, pay attention to frost prevention, less water and more sun exposure, and the young cuttings can be exploded in January next year.
