Rhododendron will enter a dormancy state in winter. If it wants to bloom, it must provide a higher temperature so that it can continue to grow. The environment temperature should be controlled at about 15-30 ℃, not lower than 12 ℃, otherwise, it will grow slowly, which is not conducive to flowering.
Enough light is needed for azalea to bloom. In winter, the time of day is shortened, but the light is soft and can be in the sun all day. Of course, we should also pay attention to heat preservation when lighting, indoor can be placed on the balcony or windowsill, outdoor will be covered with plastic bags to keep the temperature.
Rhododendron needs a lot of water, especially before flowering, water must be enough. In addition, the environmental humidity should be increased as much as possible, and the surrounding water can be sprayed for humidification. Winter water temperature to be strictly controlled, cold water will frostbite plants, and need to be close to the indoor temperature.
Generally, fertilization is not suitable in winter, but in order to promote flowering, it is necessary to supplement certain nutrients for it. In autumn and winter, some mature organic fertilizer can be applied. Before use, it should be diluted to ensure that the root will not be damaged. After that, every 15-20 days, the fertilizer should be topdressing, urea and potassium dihydrogen phosphate should be selected to supplement various nutrients. In addition, foliar fertilizer can be applied once a week, which is more conducive to absorption. After it blooms, we must stop fertilizing in time.
