Once upon a time, there was an ancient temple on a mountain somewhere in the south of the Yangtze River. The name of this ancient temple was Weiling temple. There is an old monk in the temple who is good at treating diseases. All symptoms such as rheumatism and throat stuck are treated by hand. Before treating people, the old monk would burn incense and chant Buddha, then pour the ashes into the water for the patients to drink. After the patient drank the fragrant ash water, the pain actually recovered. The old monk said that it was the Buddha's Dharma aid. Therefore, he not only cheated the patient a lot of money, but also got the trust of the patients who came to see the doctor.
In fact, what the old monk put in his bowl is not ordinary water, but a kind of herbal soup that can cure rheumatism and other diseases. The old monk asked the young monk to fry this medicine every day. In addition to frying the soup and medicine, he had to make a fire to make fasting meals and clean all the yards. Sometimes the old monk would beat and scold him. I felt very angry, so I thought of a way to deal with the old monk. When decocting medicine, the herbs that can cure diseases are replaced by weeds.
One day, a bone was stuck in the throat of the hunter's son. The hunter took his son to Weiling temple to find the old monk for treatment. However, the soup didn't work and the throat was still stuck. When the old monk saw this, he was worried and afraid of making a fool of himself, so he said to the hunter, "you have something unclean, which offends the Buddha. The Buddha doesn't want to save your child! You go. "
The hunter came out of the hall with his seriously ill son. At this time, the little monk came up from behind and took out a bowl of medicine soup and said, "Buddha is not good. Drink my medicine." After the hunter's son drank the medicine, he saw the effect as expected, and his son was cured. The hunter thanked him repeatedly. Since then, no one has gone to see the old monk for treatment. People have gone to see the young monk for treatment. It is also said that the water of the old monk in Weiling temple will not cure the disease. The medicine of the little monk can cure the disease
One day, the woodcutter was suffering from rheumatism and went to seek medicine from the monk. When he came to the hall, he happened to meet the old monk. The old monk suddenly realized that the problem was all on the little monk. He was blue with rage and gnawed his teeth. The woodcutter was also watching. He could not be angry, so he walked out of the hall and wanted to find a monk to settle the account. However, he fell down the steps and died without paying attention.
From then on, the monk became the abbot of Weiling temple. He has planted many herbs. Every time he comes to Weiling temple to seek medical treatment, he doesn't pay a penny. Because herbs are produced in Weiling temple, the curative effect is as magical as magic elixir, so later people call it "Weilingxian".
