Blackcurrant leaves are nearly round, about 4-9 cm long and 4.5-11 cm wide, with heart-shaped base, palmate 3-5-lobes, wide triangular lobes and serrated edges. The grape leaves are oval, wider than the former, about 7 - 18 cm long, 6 - 16 cm wide, with a deep heart at the base.
Blackcurrant is raceme, bracts are small, oval or lanceolate, calyx is light yellow green or light pink, calyx tube is bell shaped, sepals are tongue shaped, petals are oval or oval, white. The grape is a panicle, the flowers are very small, the color is green.
