The stem of Dendrobium is erect, slightly flat and cylindrical, about 10-60 cm long, about 1.3 cm thick, slightly curved at the upper part, and obviously narrowed at the base. It has no branches and many nodes.
The stem of Dendrobium candidum is cylindrical. Compared with the former, it is shorter and thinner, about 9-35cm long and 2-4mm thick. It is also unbranched, with many nodes, internode length about 1.3-1.7 cm.
The leaves of Dendrobium are leathery, oblong in shape, about 6-11cm in length and 1-3cm in width, with blunt apex and two rows of unequal sides, and sheath holding stem at the base.
The leaves of Dendrobium candidum are paper, oblong lanceolate, and not as wide as the former, about 3-7 cm long and 9-15 mm wide. Its leaf edge and middle rib will be lavender, and the leaf sheath also has purple spots.
The flowers of Dendrobium are larger, the petals are wide and oval, the color is white and has purple apex.
The petals of Dendrobium officinale are yellow green and oblong lanceolate.
