When it comes to Huanglan and brandy, they are really similar. They have another name, huangyulan and baiyulan. How do we distinguish them in our daily life? Let's get to know.

Flower difference:

In flowers, they are very different, which is their biggest difference.

Huanglan: the color of the flower is yellow, the flowering period is June to July, and the fragrance is very strong, very similar to the fragrance of Osmanthus; the size of its flower is smaller than that of brandy; its flower is composed of 15 to 20 petals.

Brandy: the color of the flower is white. The flowering period is from April to September. Its flowering period is longer and earlier. Its fragrance is lighter, but it is stronger than other flowers. Its flower size is slightly larger. Its flower is composed of 10 petals.

Fruit difference:

The fruiting period of yellow orchid is from September to October, and the fruit is very easy, while brandy is very difficult to bear fruit. This is also their more obvious difference.

Plant height difference:

Yellow orchid can grow up to about 10 meters, but brandy can grow up to 17 meters. But this difference is hard to find. After all, the height of our breeding is almost the same

Huang Lan

The difference between leaves:

Yellow orchid: the leaf is shorter, its length is between 10 cm and 20 cm, its petiole is relatively longer, between 2 cm and 4 cm, stipule mark can reach above the middle of petiole.

Brandy: yellow orchid has a longer leaf phase, between 10 cm and 27 cm, but its petiole is shorter, its length is between 1.5 cm and 2 cm, which is half the length of yellow orchid. Stipule mark can reach the middle of petiole.

In daily breeding, we can only distinguish them from their leaves, but we have to observe them carefully.
