Peach trees can grow up to 10 meters, the bark is dark purple, relatively smooth. But the green peach can only grow to 8 meters generally, the bark assumes the dark reddish brown, is coarser.
The leaves of mountain peach are ovate lanceolate, with no hair on both sides, and there are fine serrations at the leaf margin. The leaves of green peach are mostly oblong lanceolate, smooth and glabrous on the top, with a few pubescence on the bottom, thick serrations on the leaf margin, or thin serrations.
The petals of hickory are obovate or nearly round, and most of the flowers are light pink or even white, with smaller flowers. The petals of green peach are oblong oval to wide obovate. The flowers are from white to dark red. The flowers are bigger than those of mountain peach.
