Mulan likes warm and overcast environment, avoid strong direct light and cold, like wet, not resistant to dry, so it mostly grows in sunny and rainy dense forest.
The growth habit of Jianlan is similar to that of Mulan, but Jianlan mainly grows in the valley wall of deep mountains and valleys, and there are Jianlan in the inclined hillside and stone gap with good water permeability and moisture retention.
The biggest difference in morphological characteristics between Mulan and Jianlan lies in the leaves, which can easily distinguish the two kinds of plants. The leaves of Mulan look wider, while those of Jianlan are narrower. If the backlight is observed from the leaf bone, it will be found that the secondary vein of Jianlan is relatively transparent, while the secondary vein of Mulan is dark green, not very transparent.
The flowering period of Mulan is from October to march of the next year, and that of Jianlan is usually from June to October.
