The leaves are clustered on the main stem, in the shape of rosette, in the shape of inverted egg wedge, growing about 2 to 8 cm, the top is blunt and microwave shaped, both sides of the leaves have white hairs.
The leaves of water hyacinth are basal, rosette like, wide ovate or rhombus, 2.5 to 12 cm long and wide, the top of the leaves is round and blunt, the base is light heart-shaped, round, truncated or wide wedge-shaped, the leaves are entire, glabrous and glossy.
The inflorescence grows between the axils of the leaves. The spathe is about 1.2cm long, white in color, and there are hairs on the back.
Most of the water hyacinth flowers are spikes, with a diameter of 3 to 4 cm, 6 perianth lobes, which are oval, obovate or oblong, and the color is lilac.
