The leaves are opposite, thick papery or thin leathery, oval or ovate, with milky edge ring. While the golden edge of boxwood is leathery, obovate or oval, with yellow or white edge, yellow green and yellow stripe in the middle, yellow for new leaves, green and white edge for old leaves.
The flowers are white in color. The florescence is from April to June every year. But the golden edge yellow poplars are cymes, the flower color is white green, the petals are nearly oval, the florescence is later than the former, and the time is shorter, June to July
