Jujube leaves alternate, elliptic or ovate lanceolate, ca. 1.5 to 3.5 cm long, ca. 0.6 to 1.2 cm wide, margin serrulate.
Hawthorn leaves are broadly ovate or triangular ovate, slightly rhomboid ovate, about 5 to 10 cm long and about 4 to 7.5 cm wide. The apex of the leaves is short and gradually sharp, with sparse irregular sharp heavy serrations on the edge.
Jujube flowers yellow green, usually 2 to 3 clusters in the axils of the leaves.

Hawthorn fruit is nearly spherical or pear shaped, with a diameter of 1 to 1.5cm, dark red and light spots.
