1. Symptoms: generally caused by insufficient light and poor ventilation, mainly affecting the branches, leaves, flowers and fruits of Pyracantha. In the early stage of the disease, there will be pink spots full of white powder, which are nearly round or irregular. In the later stage, when the white powder becomes gray white or light brown, the infected leaves will wither and shrink, and the plants will die in serious cases.
2. Prevention and control method: ventilate regularly during maintenance to give it sufficient light. In the epidemic season of powdery mildew, carbendazim or thiophanate methyl can be sprayed on the plants for prevention. After the onset of the disease, it can be treated by spraying pomegranate mixture or Bordeaux solution. Spray once every half a month, 2-3 times.
1. Symptoms: cotton aphid is the main pest to Pyracantha. The adults and nymphs of the cotton aphid cluster on the young leaves, buds and stems of the plants, and prick and suck the juice. Leaves infected with insects will change color or even fall off.
2. Control method: cut off the diseased leaves in time and destroy them in a centralized way. It can be treated by spraying the plants with imidacloprid, Pirimicarb or fenpropathrin.
