Common diseases and insect pests of violet are mainly Fusarium wilt, mildew, Verticillium Wilt and rot caused by various fungi and viruses, which are mainly caused by high humidity, insufficient light and ventilation. Generally, after such diseases occur, they should be removed in time, sprayed with carbendazim, Bordeaux solution or methyltobuzin and other common Bactericides to enhance the environmental permeability.

I. Fusarium Wilt

Symptoms: wilt will cause the growth of violet plants to stagnate and the stems and leaves to wilt. There are obvious veins on the leaves of young plants, and the leaves of larger plants may droop.

Prevention and control: the soil used for cultivation shall be disinfected and reused. 1000 times potassium permanganate solution can be used for drug prevention and control. If the plant is found to be seriously infected, it shall be immediately pulled out and burned to avoid infection to healthy plants.

II. Downy mildew

Symptoms: if the violets are sown too tightly, and the drainage is not good, they are easy to get sick. Downy mildew may cause leaf drooping and even whole plant dead.

Prevention and control: pay attention to avoid too dense planting, timely remove the diseased plants and destroy them, spray a new fungicide, ethylenelbuminate A3, with a concentration of 2-3 grams per liter of water.

III. white rust

Symptoms: the infected plants will turn yellow and brown in the later stage.

Prevention and control: when no disease is found, the violets can be prevented by spraying 3-4 degrees of pomegranate sulfur mixture. In the growing season, 65% zineb WP (500-600 times) or dsna (250-300 times) should be sprayed according to the disease.

IV. Verticillium Wilt

Symptoms: the main symptoms are yellow and wilting of the lower leaves, serious dwarfing of the diseased plants, and rapid discoloration of the bundle management tissues.

Prevention and control: 1000 times potassium permanganate solution can be used for disinfection. In case of serious infection, the infected plants shall be pulled out and burned immediately to prevent infection to other healthy plants.
