Lily plants about 70 to 150 cm tall, its bulb is spherical, its stem is vertical, cylindrical, usually with purple spots, stem no villi.
Lily leaves are alternate and have no petioles. The shape of the leaves is lanceolate or elliptic lanceolate. The leaves are all round and the veins are arc-shaped. Some kinds of leaves will be directly inserted in the soil. A few will form small bulbs and develop into new individuals.
Lily flowers are large, white in color, funnel-shaped in shape, and usually solitary at the top of the stem. The apex of a flower usually opens like a rosette, formed by the aggregation of many fleshy, fleshy, egg spoon like scales.
