People in Northern Shaanxi have always liked shandandan as the embodiment of beauty, tears and pursuit. In the folk song, it is sung: "Shandan blossoms in the back of the hollow red, you see elder brother Na Da Qin", "Shandan blossoms in the back of the ditch red, hear your voice and can't see your people." In 1935, when the Red Army entered Northern Shaanxi, this kind of red flowers all over the Loess Plateau were given a new meaning, "the Red Army has come to develop greatly with the red flowers blooming all over the mountain", and the red flowers gradually became the symbol of Shaanxi, Gansu and Ningxia, the symbol of Northern Shaanxi, and the symbol of Yan'an. In the 1970s, shandandan was discovered by us. At that time, we didn't have the consciousness of protection. There was no difference between shandandan and weeds in the seedling stage. Because of overgrazing, years of drought and ecological environment damage, shandandan once faded out of people's vision. After 5 years, red lilies sprouted in the weeds, slowly showing their shy face.
