The leaves of kidney bean grow in opposite single leaf, the shape is similar to heart shape, the top leaves are wide ovate or rhomboid ovate, grow about 4 to 16 cm, width about 3 to 11 cm, the apex of the leaves is sharp, the base is wide wedge or circle, the veins on both sides are villous, and the side leaves are slanted.
It has three leaflets, the stipules are lanceolate, about 1cm long, the leaflets are diamond shaped, about 5cm to 15cm long, about 4cm to 6cm wide, the apex of the leaves is sharp, sometimes the leaves are lavender.
The flower grows on the top of the total pedicel, the bracteoles are oblique, the Corolla is white, yellow, lavender or purple, and grows about 1.5 to 2 cm.
The raceme of the bean is axillary, the flowers are 2 to 6 at the top of the inflorescence, the Corolla is yellow white and slightly purplish green, growing about 2cm.
The pods are strip-shaped, slightly swollen, 10 to 15 cm long, about 1 cm wide, glabrous, straight or slightly curved. Four to eight seeds.
The pods of legumes are pendulous, linear, erect or obliquely spreading, about 7.5 to 70 cm long, about 6 to 12 mm wide, with many seeds, oval or cylindrical.
