Although China is the origin of Rhododendron, there are many local Rhododendron species. However, many of the azaleas we watch come from abroad. There are two ways for them to enter into China, one is to cross breeding from Japan, and then enter China, the other is to enter China from Europe. We generally call the Rhododendron that enters our country from Japan as the eastern Rhododendron, and the Rhododendron that enters our country from Europe as the Western Rhododendron.
The florescence of both of them is in winter and spring, but the florescence of dongjuan can be a little earlier, and it can bloom after new year's day. Xijuan flowers later, about around the Spring Festival.
In recent ten years, we often see a kind of Rhododendron called four seasons Rhododendron in the market, which has no fixed flowering period. Its main flowering period is similar to that of Xijuan, around the Spring Festival. In addition, as long as the conservation is reasonable and the environment is suitable, it can bloom at other times, but the number of flowers is not as large as the main flowering period. However, in general, when the temperature is above 30 ℃ in summer, it will not bloom again. It can bloom in cold and cool environment.
